Chalks are always a favourite activity but sometimes the colours can look a little dull, a follower of An Ordinary Mummy on Facebook recommended that I spray the slabs with water first making them really wet so on a really hot day in the summer we splashed some of the paddling pool water all over the patio and got the chalks out.
The water made the colours so much more vibrant and the chalks were far easier to spread across the slabs. My little boy was even able to use his hands and feet to spread the colour and blur different colours together. We drew a rainbow and then smudged it all together and even when the water started to dry up in the heat the colours were still so much more intense.
